Bands Back in Town (The Return of The Speth) w/ Redferrie & H/D
November 23 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Hollow December. Redferrie. Franco Cozzo. The Espy. FREE. OOOF.
For the perfect way to celebrate the end of your school year get on down to the iconic Hotel Esplanade in St. Kilda on the evening of the 23rd of November to witness a night of Musical Mayhem, with three of the funkiest, grooviest, sexiest young acts to come out of Melbourne’s western suburbs.
First up at 8:30; Hollow December will set the mood of the night with their spacious, atmospheric sound that seamlessly transitions in between ethereal, trance like instrumentals and head banging hooks.
After that at 9:30 is the hottest thing to come out of Newport since the Halal Snack Pack with extra chilli sauce: Redferrie. Redferrie have spent the last year building and building their now considerable fanbase, landing a bumper to bumper, sell out show at Pride of our Footscray bar. Lead by their anthemic, earth-quaking, guitar driven sound, Redferrie have become serious players in Melbourne’s live music scene and are an act to be missed at your own peril.
Finally, headlining the bill at 10:30 is Footscray’s finest sons: Franco Cozzo. With their beloved drummer Hugo Speth returning from Sweden (for good this time), the band will perform live as their original five-piece line up for the first time in nearly two years. The five lads have been itching to bring Franco’s trademark funky, jazzy, hazy, reverberant, punchy sound back to centre stage once again, and are Geeing themselves up hard to set the Espy alight.
Doors open at 8:00, but we advise you get in early. See y’all crazy motherfuckers there 😘
